Event Creation Basics
When you initially log into Backstage, you will be able to access all of your events - past and upcoming.
In order to create a new event, please follow the steps below:
Step 1. Click on "Create an event" under Quick Links.
Choose the type of an event you will be creating:
- Sandbox event - used only for testing purposes;
- Production event - the actual real-time event the attendees will launch on their apps;
Choose the organization in the dropdown menu udner which you will be creating the event. Please note that you will have access only to your own organization.
Click on "Create".
Step 2. Fill out the main event details:
- Name of the event;
- Starting and ending dates;
- Venue city - the city where the event is taking place;
- Venue timezone - the timezone of the event;
- Data location - the location where all event data will be stored;
Click on "Proceed".
Step 3. Choose "SpotMe default blueprint" and click on "Proceed". The blueprint defines the initial structure of the app.
Step 4. Choose the container app which will host your event.
Define what will be title and subtitle on the your profile in the app by filling those out in the "In-app event list" section.
Step 5. Review the event's data.
You will get to a summary page with all previously entered event's data. In order to change any information, click on "Edit" next to the respective item.
Once all data is reviewed, click on "Create".
The event creation process takes a few minutes. Once the event is created in the system, you will be automatically redirected to the initial Backstage Dashboard.
In order to access the newly created event, search for it in the bar and click on its name.
The event settings can be accessed and changed anytime after the event was created.
In order to access the event settings go to "Setup" -> "Event Settings".
Under the "General" tab, you can update all previously defined event settings such as the name, timezone, container app and so forth.
Under the "App Preferences" tab, you can define the landing page of the app when the user initially opens it.
