The "legacy" public registration page module will be deprecated at the end of 2022.
If you still have events that are using the "legacy" registration module, please switch to the new registration page module now, where you'll find all the same capabilities, and more.
By switching to the new registration page module, a new registration page will need to be created, using a different URL to the one initially created for your event. Rest assured, this will not impact your existing registration page link, which may be widely distributed, and will continue to work.
We have a solution that will automatically redirect any attendee using the previous registration page link to the newly created registration page. Please follow the below steps to switch to the new registration page module:
- In your event's workspace, go to the Marketplace and install the Registration page module.
- In the workspace main menu, go to Content > Registration. You will see the below screen where you can create the URL for your registration page, and enable it:
Enter an extension for your registration page. The first part of the URL will always be: https://webapp.spotme.com/login/eventspace/
If for example you enter "flmp-future-of-remote-work" in this field., then the URL for your specific registration page will be: https://webapp.spotme.com/login/eventspace/event-name/flmp-future-of-remote-work.
Once this is done, click on Enable registration. - Immediately after enabling your registration page, go to Content > Registration > Settings, and make sure that the newly installed or updated registration module is sending out the right emails.
Important: It is critical that this is done as soon as the registration page is enabled, as the new module will immediately start sending the new email templates out, instead of the old ones. - Once you have enabled the registration page and checked that the correct emails are associated to the new/updated module, you can proceed with the actual creation of the new registration page, including:
- Optional: take note of the attendee registration journey, for context.
- Create the registration landing page and forms + design.
- Add additional and/or conditional forms to the registration page, if needed.
- Add a manual approval step, if needed. - Once this is done, contact SpotMe Support and request that implement the redirect solution, to redirect your attendees who use the old registration URL to the new registration page.
Please note that the redirect will be set-up from the log-in page of the legacy registration page.
Note: Once the new registration module is installed, any attendees that register through the (new) registration page will appear directly in the event user list with a fp_status of "Pending" instead of “Pending registration requests” (if manual approval is not enabled).
