What is SpotMe Studio?
SpotMe Studio is an all-in-one tool for streaming your live sessions directly to your audience, through Backstage.
With Studio as your streaming provider in your virtual or hybrid live session, you can invite speakers and moderators to the discussion, share content, use polls and Q&A, and much more.
Studio supports up to 10 speakers/moderators in the green room simultaneously, with one host and two screen shares, and up to 10 people live on stage simultaneously, host included. More details
Studio is installed by default on your workspace. You can select SpotMe Studio as the streaming provider when you create live sessions, when you select Virtual or Hybrid as the session type.
If you are looking for more technical details on how studio works, you can also read our SpotMe Studio architecture article.
What can you expect from the new version of SpotMe Studio?
A robust WebRTC foundation: powered by AWS Chime
We’ve upgraded the underlying WebRTC infrastructure to AWS Chime, a proven and reliable solution.
This migration provides:
- Improved stability and reliability for your live sessions.
- Enhanced video and audio quality for a seamless event experience.
- Reduced network complexity, making it easier to run SpotMe Studio in corporate IT environments with restricted settings.
Streamlined connectivity testing
The new connectivity test is now a mandatory step when entering Studio, ensuring all critical requirements are met. It is now significantly faster, and checks:
- Webcam functionality.
- Microphone functionality.
- Network readiness (firewalls, proxies, and other restrictions) for real-time WebRTC communication.
- Audio playback.
Real-time network quality indicator
A new real-time network quality indicator has been added to the user interface. It provides continuous feedback on your connection status, ensuring you’re always informed during live sessions.
New camera blurred background and noise cancelling
New camera blurred backgrounds are now available, allowing your speakers to hide their background for added privacy.
We've also added a new background noise removal option for speakers, that filters out environmental noise, ensuring crystal-clear audio delivery during your session.
When will the new SpotMe Studio version be available and how can you enable it?
Starting May 7, 2025, the new version of SpotMe Studio will be enabled automatically on all workspaces for all organizations, and will be used for all existing and newly created live sessions.
