Summary
Use the Polling module to engage app users in real-time during an event and gather their opinions.
During a poll, each question is typically introduced by the speaker, directly shared with participants through the app with notifications, and can also be simultaneously broadcasted on the room's main screen.
Poll participants have a limited timeframe to answer each question. The results of the poll questions can be displayed in real time directly in the app and the Live view, and/or at the end of each question.
In this article we'll provide an overview of the Polling module. This series also contains the following articles relevant to using the polling module:
1 - Polling overview
3 - Configuring the poll's look and feel
4 - Running the polling session
Module components
The polling module uses three main components:
The poll in Backstage
This is the poll configuration in Backstage, where polls are created in the workspace.
The Live view
The Live view is displayed in a separate tab in the browser. This is how the poll will look on a large screen with the questions, any options the users can choose from, the count down, and and their responses.
The app or web app
This is where app users will receive notifications to join the poll, see the questions, respond, and also see the results. The app users will see the equivalent of the Live view, but in the app. The app includes iOS, Android, as well as the web app.
NEXT STEP
The first thing you need to do to use the Polling module is to create a poll in your workspace. Continue on to the Creating a poll article to learn more.
