How to invite a moderator to your Studio live stream

In the same way as you can invite speakers to a Studio live stream, you can invite moderators to your stream without giving them access to Backstage, by sharing a dedicated moderator permalink with them.

Moderators can assist the host during the live stream. Typically, the moderator will not participate as a speaker in the session, but will instead have a more behind the scene role that focuses on:

Moderating Q&A / Launching polls.
Managing live transitions between content or speakers that are being broadcasted.

Inviting a moderator

Go to Interactivity > Live sessions, and open the live session that has the associated live stream in the workspace. Next. click on (in the top left corner) to open the live session settings and scroll down to the Moderator permalink.

Here you can copy the link and share it directly with the moderator you wish to invite to the live stream:

Note: Through this link, moderators will only have access to the specific live stream you invite them too, and will not have access to the rest of the workspace in Backstage.

How does the moderator join the live stream?

Moderators will just need to click on the link to join the studio via their browser. They will need to enter a display name and can select a microphone and camera should they wish to use them.

Moderators will have the same controls as a speaker, but can also access and moderate the Q&A and launch polls. Moderators cannot access the steam settings or the stream analytics.

Moderators also cannot start or stop the stream broadcast, as they do not have access to the Go live button (this is replaced by a Leave room button).
