Installing the Abstract module
Install the Abstracts module on your workspace from the Marketplace.
Once installed, the Abstracts module will be available under the Content category of the workspace:
Creating and editing your Abstracts in the workspace
Go to Content category in the main menu and select Abstracts:
Click on New abstract, and enter the following information to create your abstract:
1 - Enter a Reference Number (Code). This is optional.
For example “A1”. The reference number is by default visible in the name of the abstract, in the list of abstracts in the app:
The reference number is a metadata that can be included or not in the display template of the Abstract list in the app. It can also be used to order the abstracts in the list.
2 - Enter a Title. This is mandatory. The title is by default preceded by the (optional) reference number, and is visible in the list of abstracts in the app.
3 - Choose the Type of abstract. This is optional. The type of abstract is visible only when the attendee opens the abstract in the app (not in the list of abstracts).
Oral: This is an audio file of the presentation.
Poster: This is a print document that illustrates the presentation.
E-Poster: This is an electronic document that illustrates the presentation.
4 - Choose a Category for the abstract. This is optional and is open text. Categories can be used by attendees to filter the abstracts in the app. The category of the abstract is visible in the list of abstracts in the app, and when the attendee opens the abstract in the app. In the list above, the category entered was “Web”
5 - Add a Description for the abstract. This is optional and is open text. The description of the abstract is visible only when the attendee opens the abstract in the app (not in the list of abstracts). The description field also supports HTML in addition to Markdown.
6 - Select a Status option for the abstract:
“Active” means that the abstract will be visible in the app to the attendees.
“Hidden” means that the abstract will not be visible in the app to the attendees.
7 - You can ignore the Availability option, as this is obsolete and no longer applicable
8 - Add one or more Presenting Authors for the abstract, by clicking on the + button, and then Edit item. Here you can add any necessary information for your author, that will be visible in the app:
Note: Authors are specific to the Abstracts module and are not linked at all to users or speakers in the workspace.
Once created, you can see the list of Abstracts created in the workspace:
You can select any abstract in order to edit it.
