In order to support compliance requirements for life science events, in particular for the display of PI (Prescribing Information) and AER (Adverse Event Reporting) information in our app, Backstage users can if needed add a header and footer to all pages of the event web app and registration page.
How to add a header and footer in the event registration page and app?
We have added a page in the Design section of the workspace in Backstage to allow you to add a customizable header and footer to the event app.
How does the header and footer look?
When added, the header and/or footer will always be visible in every page of the event app:
Header visible in the web app
Note: Headers and footers are temporarily only supported on the web app and are not supported on the mobile app. Should you need to use a header and/or footer for your event app, you can disable the access to the mobile app and invite attendees to access the web app only (using their desktop or mobile browser).
If a registration page is configured and enabled for the event, the added header and/or footer will always also automatically be displayed on all registration pages (landing page and registration forms) for all the registration page types:

How to add a header and/or footer?
To configure a header and/or a footer in the workspace, go to the Design section, and access the Header / footer section.
Here you will see that there are two tabs: the Header tab that is displayed, and the Footer tab that can be accessed by clicking on it:
In the Header and Footer tabs, you can enable the Text option in order to add the text for the header or footer, and add your formatting to it, including headers, hyperlinks, bullet lists, etc.
You can also enable the Customize box appearance option, in order to choose the colors used for the box that will contain the text for the header and/or footer, as well as the color of the text itself:
Remember to click on Save once you have finished making your changes.
To preview the header or footer, simply access the web app and see it displayed (remember that this is temporarily not supported on the mobile app).
Headers and footers in workspace templates
Headers and footers are supported in workspace templates:
- Any workspace created from a template will receive the template’s header and footer (if added to the template).
- Any template created from a workspace will receive the workspace’s header and footer (if added to the workspace).
- Workspaces that were created from a template before February 11, 2025 will not have received the template's header and footer.
