You can now embed the SpotMe event registration process directly into any website of your choosing.
This can for example be your event's home page, your organization's website or the website for a congress or a trade show, or any combination of websites to further drive event registration.
Embedding your event registration in a website will help to:
- Drive event registration by utilising the website’s current traffic, or alternatively, increase website traffic by providing event registration exclusively on this site.
Example: You have an HCP/customer portal that all event registrations need to go through.
- Utilize and leverage a dedicated event landing page that offers advanced branding options and complete creative control for your important events.
Example: Make the most of your event’s promotional website, that is specially designed to look 100% on-brand with rich visuals and advanced site capabilities, such as multiple pages, full-width images, countdown timers, etc.
- Leverage the website's analytics and marketing automation integrations for more insights.
Example: Your website is integrated with a marketing automation tool and offers web analytics that you want to leverage for deeper insights on the event registration process and registrants.
-
Facilitate registration, avoid drop-offs, and increase conversion by avoiding sending registrants to a separate site to register.
Example: Having to click away from your website to a separate distinct registration page can be off-putting for your registrants, and result in them not completing their registration.
Any type of registration page can be embedded in an existing website: open (public), private (RSVP) or a combination of public and private. Please note however that if you are using private (RSVP) registration - wether it is via a purely private RSVP registration page or a combined open (public) and private (RSVP) registration page - you will need to adjust the RSVP email template's response button so that it uses the URL of the website where the registration page is embedded. More information
Once embedded, the registration form appears as a widget or box on the website, that allows registrants to access the full registration process from the website page, without leaving it:
How is the registration page embedded in the website page?
To embed the registration process, you will need to generate and copy a section of iframe code from your registration page settings in the workspace in Backstage, and provide it to the team that is responsible for the website where you want to embed the registration, so that they can add it.
You'll need to follow these steps:
Step 1 - In order to embed this code on your website, we need to approve the website domain (domain example: “spotme.com”). Please reach out to our support team to assist you with this.
If the domain is not approved, the embedding code will not work.
Step 2 - Prepare your registration page, including the form, settings, design and emails.
Step 3 - Copy the iframe embedding code and share it with the team that is responsible for implementing the embedded registration on your website.
To embed the registration form, you will need to provide a section of iframe code to the person(s) responsible for the website where you want to embed the registration.
We recommend that you contact the relevant persons in advance to ensure that the iframe code can indeed be added to the website.
Adjusting the appearance of the event registration box to match the website
The appearance of the embedded registration page is managed via the Registration > Design section in the workspace. More information
These registration page design settings are shared and used for both the embedded registration form and the standalone registration page. It is therefore not possible to have a separate dedicated theme just for the embedded registration form.
Copying the registration embed iframe code
To embed your event's registration page on another website, you will need to enable the Embedding toggle in the registration page's Settings section:
Once the Embedding toggle is enabled, the following screen that includes the generated iframe code is displayed:
Here, by clicking on the Copy code button you can copy the iframe embed code that you will need to provide to the website team in order for them to add it to the website.
Please note that any changes made to the registration page in Backstage can take up to 5 minutes to be reflected in the embedded registration form.
The Embedding toggle described above will only display or hide the code in the Backstage user interface. It does not work as a switch that will enable or disable the embedded registration.
To disable registrations in the embedded website you will have to remove the embed iframe code from their embedded website, or simply disable the entire registration page.
Adjusting the RSVP email template's buttons (only if embedding a private (RSVP) registration page
This section is not applicable if you are embedding a purely public (open) registration page).
If you are using private (RSVP) registration - wether it is via a purely private RSVP registration page or a combined open (public) and private (RSVP) registration page - you will need to adjust the RSVP email template's response button so that it uses the URL of the website where the registration page is embedded.
This is done by editing the URL in for the Submit RSVP button, by adding the URL of the website page where the registration page is embedded:
For example, if you are embedding the registration page on the following page:
https://nfd-summit.novogenic-events.com/index.html
Then this is the exact URL that would add to the button in the email template.
