Event attendees will receive emails from your workspace as part of their journey to register or access the event, or simply to be informed of any news regarding the event.
If the email they receive is classified as "Promotional" in the workspace, the attendees will see an "Unsubscribe" button. This button is typically in the footer of the email (as seen below):
By hitting Unsubscribe, your attendees will choose to no longer receive "Promotional" emails from the specific workspace that the email was sent from. Promotional emails will therefore no longer be sent from the workspace to the unsubscribed attendee, immediately after they have hit the Unsubscribe button.
Transaction emails will continue to be sent to the participant, even if they have unsubscribed from promotional emails.
In the workspace user list, Backstage users can see whether or not an attendee has unsubscribed from a workspace's emails, via the user's page (User view tab):
To note, in the workspace email logs, you can also see if a user did not receive an email due to having unsubscribed fro the workspace's emails.
Once a user has unsubscribed from emails, there is no way to "resubscribe" them. If you do need to "resubscribe" a user to a workspace's emails, please contact SpotMe support for assistance.
To note, additional "Unsubscribe” buttons can also be displayed automatically by certain email clients for emails that are not classified as Transactional (and that therefore actually contain “Unsubscribe” links in the email template in the workspace. They can for example be displayed as a button in the header, but this depends entirely on the email client used. This is managed by the one-click unsubscribe mechanism.
