The below described feature will be available starting October 8, 2024.
As part of a form's display template, you can add the Signature pad component in order to allow attendees to provide their signature on a form using the mobile app or the web app.
This, for example, can be used to:
- Give your sponsor representatives the ability to efficiently capture an attendee's explicit consent to having their information collected live at an in-person event, via a secure digital signature pad.
This would imply adding the Signature pad component to a lead qualification form, as part of using the Leads module, or the more recent Universal lead capture module.
- Capture the check-in of your attendees. You can make an attendance form available to app users via a quick link, app menu item, or an individual session’s page. Attendees can provide their signature via the signature pad on the attendance form, using the mobile app or on the web app, when they join the event or the associated session in order to check-in. This will ensure a smooth check-in experience while securely recording attendee signatures for verification or compliance purposes.
Adding the signature pad component to a form
To add the Signature pad component to your form display template, simply open your form's display template, and drag over the Signature pad component from the left side panel (form elements) into the form:
In the Signature pad component options on the right, you can:
- Enter a Title for the signature pad section that is visible in the app. This could be "Signature" or "Please sign here", for example.
- Choose whether you want to show the first name and last name of the device owner, i.e. the person who is logged into the app. To note, if you are using the signature pad on a lead qualification page, it is recommended that you disable this as it will show the representative's name.
- Choose whether you want to show the first name and last name of the person to sign (whose signature is being captured). If you are using the signature pad on a lead qualification page, then this would be the name of the attendee who has had their information taken as a lead.
- Choose whether or not the signature is required in order to save the form.
Using the signature pad in the app
The signature pad can be used on mobile app and on web app.
In the app, once the signature pad has been added to the form, it will appear as follows for attendees to use:
On mobile app
On web app
Note: In the above screenshots of the apps, you can see that the options "Device owner" and "Person to sign" were both enabled in the signature component in the form in Backstage, as they are visible in the top right of the signature pad.
Downloading your attendees signatures
In Backstage you can download all the signatures that attendees have provided as part of the event.
Go to Other > Signature block:
Here you will see a list of all the forms that use the signature block component in their template.
Each form has a Export Zip button that allows you to download a .zip folder that will contain all the signatures in PNG format, and at a resolution of 375 × 357 px.
For the signatures that are captured as part of the Lead qualification form, the file names will include the following information: Name of the activated user + User ID. For example:
