What links are sent to attendees to access an event or content hub?

These are the different links that can be present in emails sent from SpotMe to attendees to allow them to access the event. These links are added to email templates via the email editor.

Download mobile app link

• Present in the invitation email sent by SpotMe.
• These links point to the app in the app stores and do not expire.
• No redirect possible after logging in.

Web app “magic link” or activation link

• Present in the invitation email sent by SpotMe, and can be added to any email template.
• Unique link created for a specific attendee.
• Allows attendees to access the web app directly without requiring an email or password.
• Valid for the duration of the event + 30 days (or 30 days if the event has already passed).
• A web app specific workspace setting can, if needed, be used to make these links work only once (so that after the single use they are no longer active).

Mobile app activation link

• Sent in the invitation email sent by SpotMe when app users log in to the mobile app.
• Unique link created for a specific attendee.
• Allows attendees to access the event via mobile app directly without requiring an email or password.
• Valid for 30 minutes.

Web app magic link with a “redirect”

• Typically used in any type of email, including invitation emails.
• This is a web app magic link (see above properties) that includes a redirect, in order to log-in the attendee and direct them to a specific page in the web app.

Email address confirmation link

• Present in the confirmation email sent by SpotMe for when attendees sign up via a registration page.
• Unique link created for a specific attendee.

Direct web app link to a specific content page

• Typically used in any type of email.
• Here you would copy the URL of a page in the web app, then add it as a direct hyperlink to an email.
• If the attendee is already logged in to the web app they will directly be taken to the page.
• If the attendee is not already logged-in, they will be redirected to the list of events.
• Cookies need to be activated and accepted by the attendee for the link to take them directly to the specific content page.
• Direct links do not expire.

Content hub magic link

• Present in the content hub invitation email sent by SpotMe to provide attendees with access to the content hub.
• Unique link created for a specific attendee.
• Allows attendees to access the content hub directly without requiring an email or password.
• Valid for 30 days after the link is sent.
