Email login is the default activation mechanism for accessing SpotMe events. It can be paired with SMS authentication, where app users will receive a text message on their phone containing a code.
Accessing an event on mobile or web app
SMS authentication can be used on both mobile app and web app. The approach described below (a part from installing the app from the store) is the same for both mobile app and web app.
The participant needs to go through the steps below to log in to the app using their email address, and by providing a code that is received via SMS:
1. The participant can tap the link contained in the invitation email to open the app (or install it), and then click on Get Started:
Download and install app | Tap "Get started" |
2. Here the participant can choose their login method among the available options (depending on what has been configured on the workspace), here they shall choose Text (SMS) activation.
The participant then enters their email address, accepts the privacy policy terms, and clicks on Continue:

3. The participant will then receive an activation SMS on their phone, containing a 6-digit code. They can then enter the 6-digit code into the app to initiate the activation process:
Confirm with code |
Once logged in, the participant will see the events their email address is associated with, and can select an event to get access to it.
Note: The SMS password is valid for 5 minutes after being sent. If a participant enters 3 invalid temporary passwords, their account will be locked and they will need to contact SpotMe support to unblock their account.
Requirements
To ensure successful app activation through Email login with SMS authentication, the below requirements must be met.
