Apple’s Liquid Glass design system was introduced with iOS 26 and announced at WWDC (Worldwide Developers Conference) on June 9, 2025.
It represents the new design language across Apple platforms, including iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, and visionOS. Find out more
Apple requires all iOS apps to fully support the Liquid Glass design system by September, 2026.
What are the changes that users will see once iOS 26 & Liquid Glass is deployed?
Updates that directly result from using iOS 26 and updating the app to the latest version
App users that have at least iOS 26 on their device, and have updated their app to the latest version, will see all the changes that are directly related to iOS 26 and the new Liquid Glass design.
This includes a new Liquid Glass effect that is applied to the top and bottom app bars.
These bars, depending on the context, can now become partially transparent and show content beneath them when the user scrolls, or they can disappear entirely with only some icons such as the search and filters icons remaining:
When displaying a feed, the “Post” button now floats in order to display the content behind it.
The “Search” bar is also now replaced with a single “Search” button that disappears when then the user scrolls down. Tapping the “Search” button will display the bar.
You will need to make sure that your home screen banners are adjusted so that they display properly for iOS app users that have have Liquid Glass enabled. Find out more
To note, these changes are only visible to users that are on iOS 26 and are using the latest version of the app. Users that are using a version prior to iOS 26 will not see these changes (even if they have updated their app to the latest version).
Additional updates that will be visible when updating to the latest app version, even for users who are not on iOS 26
The below additional changes have also been made to the latest version of the iOS app container, to accommodate the new Liquid Glass design and optimize the user experience.
These updates will be visible to users when updating to the latest app version, even for users with versions prior to iOS 26:
- A new “filter” icon is now used.
- Minor adjustments made to the keyboards for text input, that now show more rounded keys to match iOS 26 keyboard design.
- Minor adjustments made to the video player controls to align with default iOS 26 controls.
How will this be deployed to SpotMe/Onomi apps?
These changes will be applied to the SpotMe/Onomi iOS apps in the following manner:

On April 6, 2026, the latest available Eventspace app version on the App Store will fully enable Liquid Glass.
-
Starting April 6, 2026, customers can request to receive access to one of their workspaces, via the Eventspace app, with Liquid Glass enabled.
This can be done in order to prepare and anticipate for the change, by seeing how their event app will look, and taking new screenshots for the purpose of updating documentation or performing any necessary compliance tasks.
To do so please contact SpotMe Support.
-
Starting May 5, 2026, all new app containers that are built for existing or new customers will by default be Liquid Glass enabled.
-
Starting June 2, 2026 any existing app containers that are updated will by default be Liquid Glass enabled.
- By the end of August, 2026, all existing containers will have been updated and be Liquid Glass enabled.
