As a member of an organization, the Backstage user can also be a member of one or several workspaces, and in each of those workspaces they will also have a determined role.
Note: Only workspace managers can add/remove team members or edit roles in a workspace.

How to add team members to your workspace
In your workspace, go to Settings > Team, to see and manage the team members in your workspace:
Here, to add a new member:
- Click on Add team member.
- Enter the person's email address, and define what their role will be using the dropdown list:
If you enter an email address that does not correspond to a member of your organization, you will be prompted to create a new organization member. To do this, you need have an "admin" role il the organization. - Choose from the following roles: Manage / Editor / Viewer.
All detailed information on team member roles in workspaces is available here. - Click on Add team member, the relevant person will receive an email invitation to access the workspace via Backstage:
How to remove team members from your workspace
You can remove a team member from the workspace, by performing the following steps:
- In the workspace, go to Settings > Team, to display the list of team members in the workspace.
- Select the user that you wish to remove from the workspace, and click on the trash can button:
- Click on Remove to confirm the removal of the user from the workspace.
The user will not receive an email if they are removed from the workspace.
Once removed, the user will no longer be able to access the workspace via Backstage, and will no longer see the workspace in their list of workspaces in Backstage.
How to edit team member roles in your workspace
You can edit a team member's role in the workspace, by performing the following steps:
- In the workspace, go to Settings > Team, to display the list of team members in the workspace.
- Select the user whose role you wish to edit, and click on the Edit button :
- In the next screen, select the role you wish to give to the user.
The change of role is immediate, and the team member will receive an email notifying them of the change of role, including a link to access the workspace in Backstage:
