Backstage
The below updates are available automatically on January 17, 2023, unless specified otherwise.
Play pre-recorded videos in live sessions
Pre-recorded videos can now be imported and played during live sessions using SpotMe Studio or RTMPS streaming. Find out how you can switch between live and pre-recorded during your sessions, use intro videos, pre and post-rolls, or even run fully simulive sessions. More information
Please update the Live sessions module to see these changes.
Add lower thirds to your live sessions
Create and toggle between lower thirds (text overlays) to bring more on-screen context to your remote audience during SpotMe Studio live sessions. Great for identifying speakers or displaying titles and descriptions in a live or simulive broadcast. More information
Please update the Live sessions module to see these changes.
Optimized content hub and event audience synchronization
When you connect a content hub to a workspace, the workspace user list is no longer automatically imported. You will now choose whether or not to import the user list after the connection was made, and can manually synchronize the user lists at any time after the connection was made. More information
Add content to category from the content details page
You can now choose relevant categories for highlighted content directly from the content detail page. More information
We've added a "Discover content hubs" page in Backstage
For all organizations that do not have Content hub enabled, we will show a content hub discovery page, accessible from the Content hub category in the Backstage landing page.
From here, Backstage users can request a demo of the Content hub, see the feature in action by signing up to the "SpotMe on-demand" content hub, or simply access more information via the SpotMe website.
Reward attendees points in activity challenges for clapping
You can now use the Live session claps activity provider to reward points in activity challenges when attendees clap during a live session. More information
Live session poll updates
We've adjusted the "Vote now!" text that attendees receive when a poll is launched, so that it also accommodates for remote attendees who have a streaming delay.
When clicking on poll notifications, the app user is now taken directly to the poll tab instead of the Q&A tab.
In word cloud polls, a new “Expand view” button appears at the bottom of the word cloud panel to the right, in the web app on desktop. This allows remote attendees to see the word cloud in a larger portion of the screen, especially for when long words are submitted and cut-off.
Registration page translations
Registration pages are now fully translatable: Translation strings starting with “registration.form” are now available for all the components of the registration page, via the workspace Settings > Translations editor.
Smoother redirects from legacy registration pages to new registration pages
The process for attendees being redirected from registration pages created using the legacy module, towards new registration pages, has been made faster and smoother.
Creating translation strings in workspaces
There is now a new option to create a translation key directly from the workspace Settings > Translations editor.
Improvements to document management
We've improved the stability for uploading and deleting documents in workspaces.
Superfluous Mac system files that are created in .zip archives are no longer uploaded to Backstage.
Apps
The latest version of the mobile app is 2.18.12 for iOS and 2.14.1 for Android.
