This article will take you through all the basic steps needed to create a content hub in Backstage.
- In the Backstage home page, in the main menu to the left, click on Content hub.
Note: The Content hub menu will only appear in Backstage if it is enabled for your organization.
This will display the content hub landing page, where you can click on the Create a content hub button.
Note: If you are creating your first content hub, the above screen is displayed. If you have already created one or more content hub(s), they will be listed here in the landing page. - Enter the following information for the content hub you want to create:
Create for (optional): Select the organization that the content hub will belong to. This field will only be visible if the person creating the content hub is a member of multiple organizations.
Content hub name: Enter a name for the content hub. This will be visible in Backstage and to the visitors of the content hub.
Data location: Select the country or continent where the workspace data will be hosted. Data location is an important consideration for data privacy and law enforcement, as well as internal company policies. More information on data residency.
Select a privacy policy: Select your organization's privacy policy document(s), that the visitors will need to acknowledge in order to access the content hub via the web app. More information on legal documents.
Default app to host the content hub (optional): Select the web app that will house the content hub that you are creating. Content hubs are not supported on mobile apps. - Click on Create content hub once you have added the above information.
The content hub is now created. Please see below the next steps for your building your content hub.
