Travel (v1.0)
Travel brings attendee travel and accommodation coordination onto the event record. Getting an attendee to an event takes three things: capturing what they need, getting that request to whoever books it, and landing the booked result back on the event record. Onomi handles the first and the third, and connects to the systems and teams that do the booking in between.
New
- Travel captured with registration. Travel request capture is part of registration.
- The booking loop. A captured request needs a booked result to land back on the event record.
- Policy before booking. Travel policy enforcement starts at the request. Corporate travel policy is checked when the request is made, not discovered after the trip is booked.
- Room blocks and congress accommodation. Where you have negotiated hotel room pools for an event, you can define them as room blocks. Room blocks and allotments name the same thing. The allotment is the block's room inventory, drawn down as rooms are claimed.
Note: Travel runs on the registration journey, so it runs on the events whose request category creates an event workspace. A meeting your organization maps to record-only has no registration, and therefore no travel step, no traveler records, and no room claiming. Its travel and accommodation costs are captured as cost lines on the event's budget instead.
Note: Booking and ticketing operations remain with your TMC or travel agency. Your agency holds the fare relationships, the ticketing capability, and the duty of care for travelers. The platform's job is the request, the policy, and the record.
Travel-system connections are configured for your environment. Please contact your SpotMe Account Manager to plan the connection to your TMC or travel system. For an overview and step-by-step setup, see How to manage travel and accommodation for your event.
